On paper you press an inked thumb beside your choice. On Kaast you tap the name, and a green print marks it.

Anyone can check the count
Every ballot is linked to the one before it. One fingerprint seals the whole chain.
- The fingerprint is published with the results.
- Anyone with the ballot record can work it out again.
- Add, remove or change one ballot and the fingerprint no longer matches. Tap Change this ballot on any of them.

Every setting says what it does
It works until voting closes. After 20 wrong tries, only the organisers can unlock that voter.
A public page counts ballots as they arrive. Results stay hidden until at least 10 are in.

Questions people ask
Can anyone see how I voted?
No. Kaast keeps who has voted and what was chosen apart, with nothing joining them, and records the time someone voted only to the hour. Not even the organisers can match a ballot to a name.
What does a voter need?
The email address the organisers have for them and a phone or computer with a browser. No app, no account and no password.
How do we add our voters?
Upload the spreadsheets you already have: Excel or CSV, several files at once, title rows and all. Kaast finds the header row and the columns, merges exact duplicates and flags near ones for you to decide. Nothing is added until you confirm.
What is the receipt for?
After voting, each voter sees a 26-character code, once. When voting closes they can enter it to confirm their ballot was counted. It never shows their choices.
What is the fingerprint?
Each ballot is chained to the one before it, and the published results carry the fingerprint of the whole chain. Anyone given the ballot record can recompute it and confirm that no ballot was added, removed or changed.
What happens if there's a tie?
Kaast never breaks a tie by itself. The results name the tied candidates and their votes, and your organisers settle it under your own rules.
Can we watch turnout while voting runs?
Yes. Before voting opens you choose whether results stay hidden until you publish, show to your admins, or show to everyone on a public page. Counts stay hidden until at least 10 ballots are in.
Can results change after we publish?
No. Publishing closes voting if it is still open, checks the chain and stores a frozen count. After that, voting can't be reopened or extended.
